[Announcement] Gray Order Chronicles board game

Welcome to the Ukrainian Hetmanate!

In 2027, the Ukrainian board game studio boardova will launch a series of three standalone board games based on a dark fantasy bestseller series from Ukrainian writer Pavlo Derevianko.

A tabletop adventure trilogy set in the Ukrainian Hetmanate — a dark fantasy version of the historical Cossack state of 17-18th-century Ukraine. Play as the Characternics,  legendary werewolf warriors of the elite Gray Order. Each game will represent a different period of their lives: green rookies, seasoned warriors, and hardened veterans.

Each game chapter is a standalone board game, but your key decisions may be carried from game to game, shaping your characters and the realm around them.

Ready to explore a realm of mysticism, secrets, and shifting alliances? 

In 1845, the land of the Ukrainian Hetmanate is an independent state since the time of Bohdan Khmelnytsky. Young shapeshifting warriors step onto the wolf's path, facing threats both from within and without the Hetmanate. In this path, they build friendships, find love, endure loss, deal with the cunning enemies and inner demons, travel between the material and the spirit worlds, and face dangers both material and immaterial....

Written by Pavlo Derevianko, creator of the original book series this world is drawn from, these storylines let you make the same fateful decisions as its heroes, live through sudden twists, and uncover secrets that were never fully told.

The lead designer of the project will be Ukrainian writer and lead developer at boardova studio, lead creator 'Aridnyk' board game Volodymyr Kuznetsov. The game’s second designer will be Yaroslav Kifor, co-designer of the board game '1984: UNPERSON', which was also based on a book—George Orwell’s dystopian novel '1984'.

Worldwide release and Kickstarter Campaign

All three upcoming board games will be released in Ukrainian and English and will be available for pre-order on Kickstarter. The first game is set to launch in early 2027.
