The Board Game «Aridnyk» Is Coming to Kyiv

The board game «Aridnyk» was created based on the graphic novel «Aridnyk. The Creation of the World». Its story is rooted in the ancient beliefs and folklore of the Ukrainian highlanders, documented by Volodymyr Shukhevych in his ethnographic collection «Hutsulshchyna».

During the event, the game’s creators — lead designer Volodymyr Kuznietsov and publisher founder Zholud Dobrovolskyi — will share the 1.5-year journey of developing, designing, and playtesting the strategy game across Ukraine.

Inspired by tales of Hutsul mountain spirits, the developers built a game world where players become shepherds guiding their flocks through mountain rivers, forests, and meadows — encountering the mystical beings of the Carpathians: Aridnyk, Boh, Aley, the Wolf, and many others.

«Aridnyk» is the first board game developed and published by boardova but the team is already preparing to announce several new releases planned for 2024.
