The Festivities mini-expansion allows the shepherds to bring some holiday cheer into their routine.

Every time a Spirit tile is placed on the Horizon, the players reveal and play a special Festivity card. Every Festivity is a small game with rewards for everyone. The expansion includes 10 unique cards that can be easily added to the base game.

This is an expansion. A copy of Aridnyk base game is required to play.

This mini-expansion adds 10 Festivity Cards for seasonal holidays celebrated by the Hutsuls, which are a perfect mixture of the Christian and Pagan traditions of the region.

When a Spirit appears on the Horizon, the player who placed that tile picks up the Festivity card with the icon matching that Spirit. This player will be Host. A Festivity card consists of 2 parts: mini-games for all players and rules for placing Sheep on specific game components (cards & tiles).

What Do the Folk Celebrate?

In this expansion, you will find traditional holidays, carefully preserved in the Hutsul region to this day. Some of these traditions are described on the back of the expansion envelope.

As you look through the cards, learn about Velykden (Easter), Green Week, Ivana Kupala (Midsummer), Zdzvizhennya (Movement of the Cross), and Mykolai (St. Nicholas Day) — holidays that our Ukrainian ancestors held in special esteem and reverence.
